Canada Day

Tomorrow is Canada Day and we have lots of friends coming over to enjoy the festivities and the fireworks tomorrow night which we can view right from our deck in the back.  And, on Monday one of my favourite people, my cousin Mike and his wife Karen will be here.  They're on their way to my Cousin's Marilyn home in Alberta for Marilyn's 50th.  We were hoping to go but, it's a crazy time out there right now with the stampede, and we wanted to visit friends there also who live not too far from Marilyn but, this proved to be the wrong time for them as they're vacationing.  But, we will still get out this summer.

In the meantime I'm busy, busy, busy, Like a .... BEE with orders and things and trying to get a Christmas in July gig going - I've ordered new scents for the Bath Bombs and lots of glamour glitter and new colours!

Happy Canada Day to everyone and keep watching for new items!  Cheers BEE!

Angels....

I so.. do believe in Angels - ask my husband...I have been collecting them for years and when I was doing crafts before my business was called ....Fallin' Angels (as opposed to Fallen Angels as my partner didn't want people to get the wrong impression - well...).  In any event Angels, Angels, Angels...all sizes - all shapes, all colours.  I love them.

I have a curio in our living room filled with Angel Gifts that I have received over the years.  Sometimes Baboo thinks he has to genuflect to walk across the floor in there.  But, I love them, and love making them.

Now, I'm getting back to spending more of my energy being creative - so, between the moose and the Angels and the baskets and the Snowmen...oh yeah, I love them too...and the Santas..Yep...lots yet to come folks and I hope you'll stay with me.

I found these darlings in a magazine years ago, and I can't tell you how many I have made - but, I will be making a bunch again this year. They are made with quilted material (fronts) and muslin backs and I do the faces differently than shown here - well you'll see - All are adorned with ribbons, lace, buttons and hair, and I think they're absolutely adorable.  $5.00 a piece or 3 for $14.00.

Today is the Day of the Moose!

Well, not quite what we see in the bush..

It has been so terribly gloomy here this week...yesterday was horrid and it looks like more crappy days ahead.

I've brought a cold home from our White Water Rafting weekend.  I didn't ride the rapids this year and in a way I was kinda glad I didn't.  Unfortunately the gals that did ride had some major problems and the boats over turned.  My one friend came home with a black eye!  The water was really high this year and a lot of boats over turned.  What a horrible experience for them - my one friend's boat went over twice and she was in tears when she came back to camp and talked about it.

A Couple of Moose
We're all middle aged women here and still playing like kids...but, that was too scary for me listening to them talk about what had happened.

Any hoo - I was glad that we got away for our annual "what are we crazy weekend" and as I look out my office window and see another gloomy day on the horizon, I've decided that today is the day of the moose and I will be sewing some cute moose couples to enhance the upcoming Christmas season.  All I have to do is wait for Baboo to get out of bed to start up the sewing machine.  Stay tuned!

Big Order!

I have a friend Mary who lives in the United States.  She is partners with a fellow in the U.K., and Al (my Husband aka my Sweet Baboo), had the opportunity of hooking up with both of them last year in Niagara Falls.  It was so good to spend time with them...they're such a lovely couple and it is sad that distance separates them right now.  But, in time things will work out their way.

Mary has always supported all of my efforts and has ordered some spa baskets to go over seas to the UK - I'm so excited...Three (3)...And, another friend of mine has a spa and she would like to take some for the Christmas Season for and idea for Hubbies popping into her spa.

Things are looking good!

Christmas?

I know just the mere thought put people into a head spin, but, we have to own up to the fact that it is just 6 months away.

For years I have held on to patterns that I've wanted to make and just never got around to...so, to that end, starting this week, I'll be sewing Christmas things - whimsical moose, Angels and Santas.

In addition, I will be making some other types of "dolls" including a wonderful witch and scarecrows for fall.

Please stay tuned...I promise you so much more!

Hugs, Bee

How I Began

After I retired last year, I discovered I needed to do something "creative". Years ago I did crafts, so decided to try something new.

A friend in my Town has a Green Spa and she wanted slippers for her spa made with Organic Cotton, so, I offered to help. That's how things begun. I got the idea that I could create spa baskets that are all hand made either crochet or knitted and to each one, I would add a pair of slippers, a hand made hand towel and face cloth.

THEN, I thought I could do this for the kitchen too - so, that began with a basket, dish towel and dishcloth.

A good friend of mine told me about Bath Bombs that she buys in the UK - so another light bulb came on - The beginning of Bee's Bombs. So, that's where we are now.

My Bombs are made with all natural ingredients and all kinds of scents - some I've "invented" but, it's been fun and has solved my need to create.

Sewing is another passion - so I will be making my Angels and Dolls and all kinds of things that will come along in time.

I hope you enjoy this blog and my products!

Thanks - bee
