Busy Bee

It's been forever since I've posted on here - but, I've been a "Busy Bee"...

I love my new Business and am enjoying all my experimenting and discovering.  I found some wonderful recipes for soaps and bombs and have been trying all these new things for my customers.

Debbie talked me into doing some Craft Shows to get some exposure so, that's a biggee right now - getting ready for those and keeping up with the orders that I have already.  So,  Debbie and I will do two shows - and right now is especially busy for me.  But, it's all good - I like this kind of busy.

Al is in at the Hunt Camp this week for the Deer Hunt and it's a good time to get a lot of stuff done.  I'm grateful to my friends who have offered to come over and help.  That means so much to me to have such wonderful support.

Where has the summer gone!

Sitting here in the Great White, the seasons change very quickly.  Although our days are still quite warm and comfortable the day cools off quickly once the sun starts to set.  You can see the changing colours on the trees and just know that fall is around the corner.

We've had a great summer with lots of friends and family visiting, but, I've been especially busy with Bee's Bombs.  I'm now officially a registered business, and have orders coming from everywhere and I'm so very excited about it all.
Tomorrow I will start with my sewing projects - witches, and scarecrows for the fall along with some lovely lavender sachets.  Soaps - lots of soaps - they've become a popular seller and I've even started making Baby Spa Baskets.

Lots to do and lots to keep me hopping...I love every minute of it!

What a Wonderful Week

I am still whirling from all the excitement here this week and today we had a visit from our Friend, Fascinatin' Debbie.  Always a good time - we both love her and hers so very much.

Octopus hunting for dinner??

Fishies have lizards in their gizzards
I did manage to get some "bombs" made and packaged and received a big order from up home, so, I'm thrilled to say the least.  While I was "bombing" I decided to do up a few soap recipes and did a few bars for Debbie to take home to her Grandson Sebastien (aged 3)...they were fun to make and I'm going to see what else I can come up with.

These will be fun for Sebastien as he will probably want to get at the embedded toys inside of the soap...gotta see what I can come up with for little girls.  I scented these with Peppermint essential oils - just enough for a hint of a smell.

Last night I did some Raspberry scented bombs and in line with that today made some soap with pureed raspberries and oatmeal...it smells divine!

Tomorrow I'm on the road with White Water Rafting Debb - heading up to Temagami to catch a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater - should be fun!  TaTa

Well I was so excited.....

When I was up home the other day, I dropped some of my bombs off to a friend in Haileybury.  Lo and Behold - yesterday she messaged me and told me that she had some orders.....so, despite my lazy hazy crazy days of summer...I got back to the bombs and made a few batches.

I made some "champagne" glass "bombs" which I thought would be really neat party favours.  I made my own "scent" and called it White Lace and Promises and it is amazing - it smells so nice.  Then, I went to work and came up with my Champagne bombs...I'll change them a bit if I make them again...but, I thought the were really neat!

Now, the ideas are just running through my head - I'm just so excited....

Not much getting done these days

It is gorgeous out!  I think I'm going to take my bomb makings outside on the deck today and enjoy this beautiful weather we are having.

Marian's spot on the earth - lovely!
Yesterday found Chrissy and I up in my home town of New Liskeard visiting with our dear friends Linda and Marian at Marian's home out on Fairy Lake.  Linda was here from Oregon and we last saw her 3 years ago.  Unfortunately we lost her sister Marilyn earlier this year in a tragic car accident at Temagami and she was so missed yesterday in our visit.  However, we know she surrounds us with her love and that she's only "away".

Chris Marian and Linda at Marian's.  We have all been friends for 40 years (or more in the case of Chrissy)!
It was a day of Love, Living and Laughter - my three very favourite things!

Summer Time Summer Time fun, sun, Summer Time

We have been having the most glorious weather and the best company in a long time.  A busy Canada Day weekend with so many people coming by - I loved it!  We got down to the waterfront with my cousin Mike and his wife Karen on Sunday and I ran into so many folks that I hadn't seen since I retired.
Little Bird taking in the view
We love our waterfront!
Beauty...nothing but Beauty!
It's just the end of the shads and you can see them on these posts
Lots of boats in the Lake this year!
Baboo and Mike holding up the rear!

We had so many people drop by and have a couple of cool ones with us - it's been a great great summer so far.

My Friend Chris and I are heading up home tomorrow to visit with our friend Linda who is here from Oregon.  We'll be picking her up at her Mom's and then, we'll be off to our other friend Marian's for lunch and girl talk.  I can't wait.  Will have lots of pics from that.

Been so busy that the Crafty things have been on hold for a bit....

This weekend promises more excitement with a visit from Fascinatin' Debbie and on Saturday I'll be heading up to Temagami with White Water Rafting Debb for a Murder Mystery Evening...
Life is good!  Stay Tuned!

Canada Day

Tomorrow is Canada Day and we have lots of friends coming over to enjoy the festivities and the fireworks tomorrow night which we can view right from our deck in the back.  And, on Monday one of my favourite people, my cousin Mike and his wife Karen will be here.  They're on their way to my Cousin's Marilyn home in Alberta for Marilyn's 50th.  We were hoping to go but, it's a crazy time out there right now with the stampede, and we wanted to visit friends there also who live not too far from Marilyn but, this proved to be the wrong time for them as they're vacationing.  But, we will still get out this summer.

In the meantime I'm busy, busy, busy, Like a .... BEE with orders and things and trying to get a Christmas in July gig going - I've ordered new scents for the Bath Bombs and lots of glamour glitter and new colours!

Happy Canada Day to everyone and keep watching for new items!  Cheers BEE!

Angels....

I so.. do believe in Angels - ask my husband...I have been collecting them for years and when I was doing crafts before my business was called ....Fallin' Angels (as opposed to Fallen Angels as my partner didn't want people to get the wrong impression - well...).  In any event Angels, Angels, Angels...all sizes - all shapes, all colours.  I love them.

I have a curio in our living room filled with Angel Gifts that I have received over the years.  Sometimes Baboo thinks he has to genuflect to walk across the floor in there.  But, I love them, and love making them.

Now, I'm getting back to spending more of my energy being creative - so, between the moose and the Angels and the baskets and the Snowmen...oh yeah, I love them too...and the Santas..Yep...lots yet to come folks and I hope you'll stay with me.

I found these darlings in a magazine years ago, and I can't tell you how many I have made - but, I will be making a bunch again this year. They are made with quilted material (fronts) and muslin backs and I do the faces differently than shown here - well you'll see - All are adorned with ribbons, lace, buttons and hair, and I think they're absolutely adorable.  $5.00 a piece or 3 for $14.00.

Today is the Day of the Moose!

Well, not quite what we see in the bush..

It has been so terribly gloomy here this week...yesterday was horrid and it looks like more crappy days ahead.

I've brought a cold home from our White Water Rafting weekend.  I didn't ride the rapids this year and in a way I was kinda glad I didn't.  Unfortunately the gals that did ride had some major problems and the boats over turned.  My one friend came home with a black eye!  The water was really high this year and a lot of boats over turned.  What a horrible experience for them - my one friend's boat went over twice and she was in tears when she came back to camp and talked about it.

A Couple of Moose
We're all middle aged women here and still playing like kids...but, that was too scary for me listening to them talk about what had happened.

Any hoo - I was glad that we got away for our annual "what are we crazy weekend" and as I look out my office window and see another gloomy day on the horizon, I've decided that today is the day of the moose and I will be sewing some cute moose couples to enhance the upcoming Christmas season.  All I have to do is wait for Baboo to get out of bed to start up the sewing machine.  Stay tuned!

Big Order!

I have a friend Mary who lives in the United States.  She is partners with a fellow in the U.K., and Al (my Husband aka my Sweet Baboo), had the opportunity of hooking up with both of them last year in Niagara Falls.  It was so good to spend time with them...they're such a lovely couple and it is sad that distance separates them right now.  But, in time things will work out their way.

Mary has always supported all of my efforts and has ordered some spa baskets to go over seas to the UK - I'm so excited...Three (3)...And, another friend of mine has a spa and she would like to take some for the Christmas Season for and idea for Hubbies popping into her spa.

Things are looking good!

Christmas?

I know just the mere thought put people into a head spin, but, we have to own up to the fact that it is just 6 months away.

For years I have held on to patterns that I've wanted to make and just never got around to...so, to that end, starting this week, I'll be sewing Christmas things - whimsical moose, Angels and Santas.

In addition, I will be making some other types of "dolls" including a wonderful witch and scarecrows for fall.

Please stay tuned...I promise you so much more!

Hugs, Bee
